Happy Monday you guys!
Where has the weekend gone? Last night I tried to get to bed early, I thought, let’s start the week with a well rounded 8 hours of sleep.
Only the best laid plans right? After eventually falling into some sort of sleeping state around 1am, I woke back up at 5am. Yes, that’s right. FIVE. AM.
From that point on, I ended up sucked into Twitter, reading about the US Presidential Debate, becoming more and more outraged and well, even more awake. Not to mention checking Facebook. Why? Because apparently I wanted to make myself a bit enraged on a Monday morning at 5:30am.
So here I am, it’s 6am and I’m sipping on coffee. It’s pitch dark outside and I thought, what better a time to write than now? No time like the present.
I’ve been missing my Sunday Coffee posts lately, but I feel like I might turn them into Monday coffee posts. Sundays are days for sleeping in, making lazy breakfasts and heading out into London. Mondays are (somewhat) more productive. Here’s the the first accidental Monday coffee post. We’ll see what happens.
Time for your MONDAY (!!) coffee:
Coats and boots are back my friends
Yes, this week was a serious time for coats and boots. I’m wrapping up my body with cosy fabrics and chunky shoes and I couldn’t be happier.
Pan Chai at Harrods
I did manage to put up a blog post yesterday (shock surprise!) and I detailed my fantastic visit to Pan Chai in Harrods from a few weeks ago. The place has melt in your mouth sashimi, sushi and everything in between. It’s 5 stars in my eyes, and I can’t recommend it enough. Now go on and read all about it!
Home decor continues
A standard weekend Snapchat includes me showing my piles of clothing surrounding my wardrobe. I’ve been away from Snapchat for a bit, but this is big news you guys…. there aren’t any piles. As of yesterday afternoon, I actually stuck to my agenda and cleared the space. In fact, I even ordered a clothes rail to start hanging things up on. Is this adulting? I think so.
New Opening: Fumo
Last week I caught up with my girlfriends and we dined at the new opening, Fumo near Leicester Square. My friend Grace lives right by it and couldn’t stop looking in the window, so we had to go and visit. Spoiler alert? The food is beautiful. Actually gorgeous. We ordered too many courses with wine and it was the perfect girly night out. A must have? The pumpkin risotto. The interiors are also major goals with marble, gold and copper around every corner.
Tried and Tested: Taqueria
Upon reflection, it’s been a serious foodie week. Saturday afternoon, Joe and I went to Westbourne Grove in search of a new brunch spot to try out. But after seeing massive queues and Granger and Co., and feeling too lazy to really explore the area. We ended up walking straight into Taqueira for tacos and tequila. Not exactly the brunch we had planned, but isn’t it better that way? Amazing customer service in this little taco joint – along with the best margarita I’ve had in London.
Cutie British pubs
You know something? I love a good British pub. I like the smell, I like the decor and I like the atmosphere. After eating too many tacos and wandering around for a bit, Joe and I ended up at the Cock and Bottle pub. It’s along a quiet street, next to a beautiful church and we sat outside with our drinks and coats until it got dark. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Saturdays.
We quit the gym!
Seriously, the gym that I cherished and treasured is no more as of October 31st. We’re ditching our Equinox membership because it’s ridiculously expensive (I mean, it’s worth it if you’re sleeping overnight there) and I’d rather put the money towards travel. So here’s to spending that cash on European adventures. I. Cannot. Wait.
And that’s it for the Monday coffee, short but sweet. It’s another busy week ahead and I’m sure I’m coming down with a cold, so here’s to hoping I can cut that out before it hits… wish me luck!
Kelly xoxo
