A tale as old as time, my 5 favourite pieces from the PANDORA x Disney Collection

If you’re a complete magpie like me, you’re drawn to shiny, beautiful things. Therefore it comes as absolutely no surprise that jewelry has always been high up on my list of things I’m lusting over. From classic pieces to outrageous sparkle, I can’t seem to get enough. And there’s nothing like a bit of shine and sparkle to make you feel quite like the Princess you’ve always been.

So it was written in the stars that the jewelry experts at PANDORA would partner with Disney to create the ultimate magical collection. And it personally couldn’t have come at a better time to release the new gems, as I was heading to Disneyland Paris for the first time at the end of the month. I’d been humming Disney songs for weeks already.

On a particularly chilly evening, we gathered along Westminster Bridge for the unveiling of the Disney magic. The exclusive collaboration video played in full view of the bridge for all of us to see. No small feat. The magic had begun and what immediately followed was a night filled with cocktails, glitz, glitter and new friends.

If that hadn’t made everyone fall head over heels in love with the collection already, a week later we met at The Kensington Hotel for their Beauty and the Beast afternoon tea. In case you didn’t know already, PANDORA and Disney do elegant and indulgent decadence very well indeed. We got a closer look at the PANDORA x Disney collection, nibbled on cakes and of course, took selfies with the ears.

After seeing it all up close and personal, it wasn’t easy to pick out my favourites from the bunch. They’re all integral parts to a beautiful collection. But like we all have our favourite Disney characters and films, we too, have favourite pieces of jewelry.

So I picked my favourites from the collection that need on your Christmas wishlist this year (or hello, cheeky purchases for yourself are always a do):

5 favourite pieces from the PANDORA x Disney collection:

1. My Minnie Necklace

Worn specifically at Disneyland Paris might I add. Truth be told, I’m actually addicted to wearing this everywhere. Now, I just need the Minnie ears to match…!

2. Cinderella’s Dress Charm

Growing up, Cinderella was my favourite Disney story. For basic reasons like, I had blonde hair and my favourite colour at the time was blue. Very simple indeed, but it’s stuck with me since. It’s my favourite of them all, so her dress charm is a must on my Christmas list this year.

3. Cinderella’s Carriage

Of course, it would always have to be the pumpkin turned carriage next. I adore this charm.

4. Beauty and the Beast bracelet

True beauty is found within, and sometimes it’s nice to have that reminder for when you’re having a rough day, or not feeling quite like yourself. I’ve always been a big fan of small quotes on jewelry, so this is one of my favourites in the PANDORA x Disney collection. I used to have a bracelet years ago that said ‘wheresoever you go, go with all your heart’. It’s since been lost among my moves, and I’m sure it’ll turn up someday, but the sentiment always sticks with me.

5. Mickey charm

A little Mickey charm with a wink. I’ve always loved Mickey and Minnie and there’s something so fun and rambunctious about them as characters. They embody the true magic of Disney.

I couldn’t help but feel emotional as I finally stepped into Disneyland Paris for the first time a few weeks later. I’d had a whirlwind month of Disney countdown with PANDORA. And you know what? It really felt like the moment truly was, that bit more magical.
