🎟 Standard seat tickets are roughly £50.
🛤 You’ll spot famous destinations from the films like Glenfinnan Viaduct and Dumbledore’s grave along the journey
🚂 The train leaves from Fort William station
🥂 You can buy food and drinks on the trolley, even alcohol!
🌫 The windows open so you can take it all in! Make sure to watch out for falling ash from the coal though. I got hit with it 😅
📖 It’s a LONG train journey. Round trip the day out will be about six hours!

A castle straight out of a fairytale ✨🏰❤️

Originally Kylemore Castle, the castle is now known as Kylemore Abbey and is currently a Benedictine Monastery, founded for Benedictine nuns who fled Belgium in World War I in 1920.

You can visit Kylemore Abbey, which is about an hour and a half drive north west of Galway. Tickets are €16.00 and this takes you inside the restored rooms, through the Victorian walled garden, the Neo-gothic church along with the woodlands on the grounds. Sadly, we didn’t get to visit as a popped tire the day before meant we were scrambling to even make this stop happen! There’s always next time!

Did you know that Chetham’s Library in Manchester, opened in 1653 and is the oldest surviving public library in Britain? You can book tours to visit, which I’d highly recommend! They even do after hours tours at night where they open up some of the secret passageways not on the regular tours… I’m desperate to go on that one next! 🕯️📖✨
