Summertime has quickly approached and I kind of can’t believe it’s already here. My hay fever (allergies) are in full swing and my constant source of relief Benadryl has me feeling drowsy.
But somehow, I’m pressing on.
And that means catching up on everything that’s been happening over the past few weeks. Like our trip to New York City! Just a short month and a bit ago we were stomping around the big apple exploring – and now in just 10 days time, I’m going back again.
I can hardly believe it either. It’s a whirlwind of a summer and it’s only just begun.
So that means that I got a good practice run in with my outfits on the first trip. What do you wear when you’re not totally sure on the weather in NYC? Look no further.
The Looks:
Option #1 – The Boohoo Floral
My favourite daytime NYC look includes this floral Boohoo dress. Long sleeved, with a short skirt, this dress goes from day to night without any issues. A cosy jumper piles on top for the daytime, along with this nude Boohoo denim jacket – and just drop the jacket at night and throw on some heels. A firm yes to keep in the suitcase (most of the summer looks on Boohoo right now are to be honest)
Option #2) – The cool jumpsuit
A cool jumpsuit. This baby has gotten me so many compliments I don’t really know how else to say it. It’s a dream. Again, day to night is easy with a jumper to toss on.

Option #3) – The sexy sequin dress
A super-sexy sequin dress. I fell in love with this black form fitting midi and knew I had to have it for my travels. It’s super light and fits easily in my case. Also, you guessed it – PERFECT WITH A JUMPER. In full disclosure, I didn’t think it was going to be that cold in NYC at the end of April, but I should have known. Anyways, it’s a good thing I packed a few jumpers and denim jackets because they worked so well with everything.
Option #4 – Some super ripped jeans
A pair of absolutely destroyed ripped jeans. I can’t seem to get rid of this particular pair of jeans. I’ve had them for a couple of years now, and the holes have well and truly taken shape. I don’t mind, I love them. I knew they’d go easily with everything I’d brought, but I especially loved this tied short sleeve top from Primark.
And that’s pretty much all you need for your trip! Add in a couple of classic tees and jumpers galore and you’re good to go with anything. My NYC capsule outfit selection and wardrobe is complete.
