Every autumn and winter, I don’t know why I pretend I’m even going to buy anything else but jumpers.
I’m only going to be wearing cosy jumpers from now until April. So it’s about time I start investing in some new pieces. A few years ago, I lived in ‘going out’ dresses during the winter. Slinky, bare legs, a furry coat paired on top. I clearly was immune to the cold, all in the name of looking fabulous. Flash forward a few years and priorities have shifted slightly. I’m now the type of person who wants to stay in at the weekends. And weekday plans? Literally L.O.L. It’s more about comfort. If I am out, I’m rocking a jumper and jeans at the bar. With a toasty scarf and a sensible coat. Welcome to the joys of your mid-20s, where on some level, I have the tendencies of an 80 year old woman.
Even with my entire life priorities having shifted, it doesn’t mean that you can’t find absolute babes of jumpers to rock for the next few months. So I’ve done the hard work for you. Or for me. Because I’ve added each of these to my shopping basket and an now counting down to their arrival this week. Cheers to being cosy this season!
The 5 jumpers you want this winter
Miss Selfridge – Chunky Pointelle Roll Neck Jumper £35
With my shockingly pale skin tone, I never thought I could pull off pale pink – or really any pink colour. I always feel like I look a little strange, it’s all too close to my pinkish pale skin. I’m throwing that thinking out the window entirely, because there are some fantastic pale jumpers that I have on my radar.
Topshop – Travelling Rib Blouson Jumper £34
Say yes to mustard colours this season! I always have a soft spot for a Topshop jumper. I have an Oxblood coloured one that I’ve been living in for the past 2 years. It’s super cosy and I love it. I have yet to get a mustard colour, so I’ll be nabbing this one later.
New Look – Cream Floral Embroidered Cowl Neck Cropped Jumper £29.99
I love this jumper! Adding embroidery to the mix, these flowers on the jumper are a winner of the season. It’s like adding to your jumper to make it into more of a statement piece. I feel like I’d really enjoy this jumper for the likes of my Instagram…
Boohoo – Annie Oversized Vintage Jumper £15
Last year, I went to the Boohoo Christmas Party. They had jumpers that you could decorate. I’d had a glass or two (hah!) of wine and was really not the best at decorating. So the bobble that I’d added had already fallen off by the time I’d finished. So instead of decorating this beauty, I took it home as it was. And oh my god. It’s my favourite jumper of all time. I’ve worn it so often in the past year that it now has a hole in it. I still wear it. I refuse to get rid of it. If you’re looking to keep your spend low on jumpers but want something you’ll cherish, go and buy one from Boohoo.
Zara – Floral Embroidered Sweater £69.99
Oh. My. God. Why don’t I already own this work of art? Everyone knows that I always shop at Zara. I love their pieces. So it’s another embroidered jumper on the list. I might need to go out today and buy this one. I’m in love. Massively oversized and looks like something I’ve dreamed up? Tick, tick, tick.
Jumpers are giving me life once again this autumn/winter season. If there are any on your wishlist that I need to know about, tell me! I’ll snap these babies up like there’s no tomorrow.
