Tis the season to be… gifting!
I have to say, I’m starting to get properly in the Christmas mood. The tunes are blasting on the radio, fairy lights are twinkling from every surface, and it seems that the United Kingdom has transformed into a holly jolly wonderland.
Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, and I think as I get older, it seems to be for such different reason. When I was growing up, I was ecstatic about presents. But when you’re older, it’s not so much about what’s on your wishlist – but it’s more about showing the people you love that you care about them. Whether that’s something big or very little, it’s the thought that makes it special.
Which is why I’ve teamed up with Boots, who are completely in line with me on this – it’s all about the season of giving!
Now, this is where I’d like to say: SPOILER ALERT FOR MY MOM, JOE and also a little extra treat for my sister in law.
For the rest of you looking for holiday inspiration, read on to find out what I picked up from Boots this season
For my mom
The first time we ever came over to the UK, my mom and I fell in love with Ted Baker. The dresses, the shoes, the brand – we couldn’t get enough. So when I spotted Boots’ offer on Ted Baker luxury makeup and bath sets… I knew I’d hit the nail right on the head.
There’s certainly something that makes our mother/daughter relationship so special. We think alike, act alike and are essentially the same person. So it’s no wonder that when one of us buys something… well, we both need it don’t we? Sadly, we’re unable to share as we live an ocean a part!
Which means that when I spot something that I like, I already know it’s the perfect gift for my mom. A few things that are perfect for her this Christmas?
Getting that holiday golden glow
Ted Baker’s All Eyes on Me Makeup set. It has beautiful golden tones, which are great for the holidays too. You can’t go wrong with an excellent festive glow, don’t you think?
A stocking stuffer
Or as I will be sending it across the Atlantic – the perfect miniature to send overseas, Benefit’s gorgeous Bronzer! I introduced this product to my mom a few years ago, so it’s always a goodie (and I happen to know her bronzer stock is getting low – so even better).
Candles
Candles are also such a staple in our house and we’ve always loved finding a good Yankee Candle. I know you can easily get these in the states too, but I couldn’t resist. The Sweet Orange Spice is a beautifully warming scent, perfect for cold snowy evenings. And Winter Glow is a lighter scent, great for lighting while enjoying a bubble bath.
Bath Petals
And speaking of baths, the last gift that I chose for my mom are the Ted Baker (again, a fave) Bath Petals. I thought these were a super cute alternative to bubble baths. The petals turn into bubble bath/soap as they’re put in the tub. Just a fun little gift that you might not buy for yourself.
Because I do think that a lot of gifts are best when they’re ones you wouldn’t necessarily get for yourself. Don’t you think?
You can also find plenty ofChristmas gifts for her on the Boots site.
For my husband
Moving onto my husband Joe and gifts I’ve found for him! (Honestly, I’m always so impressed with Boots’ selection for gifts, we tend to pick up a good amount from here each year for everyone).
For Joe, I thought it would be best to pick up some essentials that he definitely needs but again, doesn’t go out and get for himself.
I think Boots have a pretty fantastic selection of items for men that they don’t usually get for themselves. Like, SOCKS. Aren’t socks such a funny thing? We don’t typically buy them for ourselves. It seems that each year at Christmas is when someone gifts you socks and they seem to last for years – until of course, one is lost in the laundry, never to be seen again.
Jack Wills set
So the Jack Wills set is brilliant. Three pairs of smart socks, body spray AND soap. The ultimate things that my husband would never get himself.
Beard Care Kit
I also thought it would be nice to get him a little treat, a Beard Care Kit, including Beard Oil, Wax and a comb. I’m a big fan of his beard (aren’t they soft, shouldn’t all men have them?) so I felt like it would be a good treat to get some goodies for his face.
And plenty more Christmas gifts for him can be found too. From gifts for foodies to the tech obsessed.
And a bonus for the Harry Potter fans in your life
And last but not least! A really fun one from Boots that I couldn’t help but picking up! A Gryffindor Bath Bomb. I’m such a massive Harry Potter fan, and my sister in law is too – so I can’t wait to pick up some more of these for fun little gifts for the holidays. An easy idea for any fan of the Harry Potter series!
I’m actually feeling quite confident about my Christmas shopping this year – it’s not going to be a last minute dash for me after all. And for anyone looking for the perfect gifts for the ones in their lives, whether it’s for him, her or the kids, Boots have so many choices of Christmas gifting options. From luxe advent calendars and beauty buys to creative stocking fillers and adventurous gift experiences.
OK, so that’s a little insight into my Christmas gifts this year – I can’t give them all away you know! What gifts have you got your eyes on this season? Have you picked up any of your holiday shopping from Boots too?
