Finally, the last of the last from our Edinburgh two day.
The City Cafe.
It boasts itself an American diner theme.
By day, it probably has more of a traditional American diner feel.
But we went at night, for drinks. So it mostly felt like a little hipster corner of Brooklyn, where you could either order yourself a milkshake or an equally delicious alcoholic bev.
Did I mention that there are dogs here? I couldn’t have been happier.
Owned by the staff, the dogs come in to hang out for the night, and with such a relaxed crowd – it’s a perfect fit.
A homage to America.
We didn’t try the burger challenge… but maybe next time. I’d pretty much love to see J try and get his picture on their ‘Wall of Fame.’
And The City Cafe stocks my favorite beer. Blue Moon with an orange. Yum.
I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate.
I also bonded with The City Cafe’s other dog, Sam.
The bartender may have realized our connection because he brought me over treats to give to this adorable pup. Can you tell how ecstatic I am?
And Sam proved to be excellent at shaking hands, a moment unfortunately not captured on camera.
Sadly, then we had to leave, as our flight was at a shocking 630am the next day.
But we had time for one last stroll through the city on the way to our hotel.
It was bizarre leaving Edinburgh. Even when we moved, we knew we’d be back for two days in October.
Now we don’t have any plans to head back in the near future.
So, here’s to a great place to have called home for the past year.
And here’s to new adventures!
