It has been a few weeks filled with adventure.
And I haven’t even left the country yet.
This Friday, I’m embarking on a journey back to the good ol’ US of A for a few weeks. This time, we’ve got another companion joining our ranks. My friend Grace has somehow decided she likes us enough as humans and is coming to NYC, Buffalo and Pittsburgh with us. If you want to send her well wishes of encouragement here’s her twitter (which I’m sure she’ll be updating along the way to say how annoyed she is with my bickering with Joe).
Anyways! That’s not until Friday morning. So until then, I wanted to catch up with you guys on what’s been happening.
I’ve been up in London more than it seems like when I used to live there. But I’m finding that getting back down to Southampton isn’t as difficult as I used to feel like it seemed. I’m lucky that Joe wakes me up when I fall asleep on the train and makes me get off at the right stop.
And I’m lucky that when I’m on my own, my friends/family/everyone texts me so that I don’t fall asleep on the train. Does anyone else just get super sleepy on the train? Or is that just me?
In more fun news, I’ve fallen back in L-O-V-E with my Instagram account. After having some serious discussions on moving forward with it, I think I’ve started to find what works for me. And surprisingly, when you find what works, it feels easier. And you start to like it a hell of a lot more.
7 reasons I’m falling back in love with Instagram
1. FLOWERS EVERYWHERE
It’s blossom season and I can’t get enough of those pretty London rows. I don’t care if it’s getting to be overkill, I WANT MORE.
2. Everything is sunny
It’s that time of year that everyone’s dark and moody feeds are retiring and POP. Springtime colours, pub gardens, sunshiny snaps. They make me happy.
3. Bright coloured wardrobes
The fashions are getting brighter! Just like this babin’ Just Fab maxi dress I’m sporting, everyone is turning into these brightly crayon boxes of colour. Let’s just retire black for awhile because I love love love the rainbow mixture that has come to life.
4. Does everyone seem happier?
There’s been less complaining about the algorithm and the tube and more captions about where exactly we want to get our Aperol Spritz from this afternoon…
5. There’s literally more daylight
No more shooting your content for 1 hour at the weekend. We have evenings filled with light and it’s a beautiful thing.
6. It’s holiday mode!
Including myself (off to NYC Friday pals)! Everyone seems to be out and about. From Spain to Portugal through to cheeky weekends away in the Lake District. Or down to Cornwall’s seaside. We’re all planning our getaways or are already on our getaways. And I really do love a holiday snap.
7. Sandals are the only thing to wear
I have a love/love relationship with sandals. I love the look, I love how they feel. And I VERY MUCH like how they Instagram… 🙂
So here’s to enjoying social media much more than I used to. It’s a good feeling. Now… about getting my blog back into the limelight… I might as well start it with a proper fashion post. I’ve fallen hook, line and sinker for this maxi dress from Just Fab and I couldn’t have been luckier with the weather to go out and get some snaps in West London.
You can probably guess, yep, this baby is going into my suitcase to NYC…
