Did you know that all over England (and Scotland!) you can find magical Harry Potter filming locations? Like the beautiful Lacock Village!
A visit to the United Kingdom is not simply for London alone – though I have some great recommendations for there too.
Harry Potter fans absolutely need to go to explore so much more of the beautiful countries!
So, let’s go on an adventure to visit the beautiful Lacock Village… home to many Harry Potter filming locations! I’ve been wanting to go here for years!! ✨🏡⚡️
Here’s everything Harry Potter fans need to see ⬇️
🔔 Lacock Abbey
Lacock Abbey was a MAJOR Harry Potter film location. Home to the beautiful cloisters and classrooms features and so many magical spots within!
Tickets are £17 for entry to Lacock Abbey, but if you have National Trust membership, it’s included. And it’s actually open daily from 10am-5pm, which I think is pretty fantastic opening times for visitors.
And while they have the filming locations I’m about to show you, they also have lovely gardens and further sights to see within the property.
✨ The Cloisters
They are MAGICAL. You can imagine Harry, Ron and Hermione running through here right?
Well, they totally did! Plenty of scenes were filmed here as students ventured off to classes. Go ahead and run through them too – you don’t want to be late for class!
🧪 Professor Snape’s Classroom
Speaking of classes, Professor Snape’s room with the cauldron is the one! It’s cool to look back and see them.
Please note you can’t actually walk into the “classrooms” anymore. I think you used to be able to? Now there are barriers up. It’s still cool to see and this was absolutely on my Harry Potter locations bucket list.
🗿 Professor Quirrell’s Classroom
Equally, I am FAIRLY sure that the same room was used for Professor Quirrell’s classroom as Snape’s.
I’ve seen varying posts sharing Quirrell’s classroom and it’s the OTHER half of Snape’s room. So I think it’s all the same!
🪞 The Chapter House
It’s the one with the checked floor and is a temporary home to the Mirror of Erised from Philosopher’s Stone when Harry discovers it whilst sneaking around the castle. Do you recognise it?
🏡 The Potter House
James and Lily Potter’s “original house” from Philosopher’s Stone.
The Lacock village cottage is next to the local church. Their house gets a major upgrade in the Deathly Hallows 😅
✨ Budleigh Babberton
Aka the super cute streets of Lacock Village. I highly recommend a visit into The Lacock Bakery for some treats too!
🪑 Professor Horace Slughorn’s hideaway home
Owned by a muggle family on vacation in the Canary Islands, Slughorn is basically breaking and entering while he’s avoiding Death Eaters.
📌 Would you visit Lacock Village in Chippenham?? Don’t forget to bookmark this post for your next potterhead adventures!
