Come and stay with me at the most festive hotel in Edinburgh this season: Prestonfield House.
Scotland’s Edinburgh is a one of the most beautiful cities in the world… in my opinion anyways! The city is steeped in history and charm, where every cobbled street tells a tale of its rich heritage. But I highly recommend that upon your visit to capital, you take yourself just outside of the bustling city. A 10 minute drive away will take you to the sprawling grounds of the beautiful Prestonfield House.
My recent stay at this opulent getaway was nothing short of a lavish escape into a world of grandeur and refinement.

The Enchanting Arrival
The sweeping driveway, flanked by manicured lawns and a backdrop of the rugged Arthur’s Seat, set the stage for an extraordinary experience and the perfect welcome to Prestonfield House. The 17th-century baroque-style mansion exuded an air of timeless elegance, hinting at the treasures within – and during November to December, it’s home to the best decorations!
You’ll discover Christmas sprawling around the entire estate and the moment you walk through the doors at Prestonfield House – you’re put straight into the holiday spirit!

The interiors are such a rich volume of maximalist aesthetic but it’s so incredibly cosy. This is essentially EXACTLY how I’d love my home to look! Decor adorned with sumptuous fabrics, ornate furnishings, and captivating portraits and artwork, there’s something to look at around each and every corner of Prestonfield House.
Luxurious Accommodations
Our room was a sanctuary of absolute indulgence and such a wow factor the moment we walked through the door. We stayed in the Benjamin Franklin Suite – named after the illustrious founding father of the United States who stayed at Prestonfield in the 18th century! Isn’t that incredible!
The plush furnishings, rich textures, and meticulous attention to detail were unparalleled. The view from our window was overlooking the sprawling gardens and is simply breathtaking – also great for spotting their onsite highland cow wandering the grounds! Every modern amenity was seamlessly incorporated without compromising the historic charm that permeated every inch of the space.

And evening of extravagance
I’d highly recommend grabbing a drink before dinner in one of their many sprawling rooms around the hotel. It’s so incredibly comforting sitting by a warm, crackling fire, surrounded by Christmas trees and cosy, squashy sofas.
How festive is this setting?! I am in love!

Our dining experience at Prestonfield House was nothing short of exceptional. Dining at Rhubarb, the hotel’s award-winning restaurant, was an affair to remember. The gorgeous ornate dining rooms feel like you’re stepping into a film set. The gastronomic journey through Scottish cuisine was a delight to the senses and so incredibly delicious.
What truly elevated our stay was the impeccable service. The staff exuded warmth, professionalism, and a genuine desire to ensure every guest felt like royalty. Their attention to detail and personalised care made the experience even more memorable.

Breakfast at Rhubarb restaurant
When you have a setting like this to return to… well, we couldn’t help but pull ourselves out of bed to return down to Rhubarb restaurant for breakfast.
We settled into the same table like creatures of habit – it was a good table! And such a lovely morning catching the sun in Rhubarb restaurant. We ordered the pancakes and the hot poached salmon with scrambled eggs.

Stay at Prestonfield House
Our stay at Prestonfield House Hotel was an indulgent experience of luxury, elegance, and history. The seamless blend of old-world charm and modern comforts made it an unforgettable experience. From the lavish accommodations to the culinary delights and impeccable service, every aspect surpassed expectations.
Prestonfield House is more than a hotel; it’s an enchanting retreat inviting you to immerse yourself in a world of refined rich luxuries. For anyone seeking an unparalleled escape among the city of Edinburgh, Prestonfield House is an absolute must-visit.
This is the kind of life I want to live all the time. But in the meantime… a night at Prestonfield House will do the trick!
