In a few days, my UK Visa will cease to exist.
So after over a year and a half of time living abroad, I’ve officially moved stateside.
It sounds like it’s been a lengthy stay, but now that I’m back in the states and shivering in the snow, I can’t believe my time is up.
I was lucky enough to build a home with the person I love.
I got to meet great new people, who I’m lucky to now call my friends.
I studied hard.
I experienced working at a magazine.
I traveled the United Kingdom.
I conquered the London Underground.
I rocked out with Kasabian and the Kings of Leon.
I was proposed to by my best friend in the Lake District.
I traveled around Europe.
I threw a coin in the Trevi Fountain.
I drank hot chocolate in the Alps.
I went to the very top of the Eiffel Tower.
I envied the royals in Versailles.
I cruised to Germany on the Queen Elizabeth.
I went up in the London Eye.
I watched endless Premier League football.
I had afternoon tea at The Langham.
I went to the Harry Potter studios in Watford.
I started a blog.
I found my wedding dress.
I had a pint of Guinness in Dublin.
I climbed to the top of Arthur’s Seat.
I visited so. many. castles.
I perfected my pumpkin muffin recipe.
I celebrated Hogmanay in Edinburgh.
I cooked Thanksgiving dinners.
I went to a wedding.
I wrote a 138 page dissertation.
I watched an NFL game at Wembley Stadium in London.
I graduated with my Master’s degree.
I drank a lot of tea.
I survived with a broken phone for 1.5 years.
I celebrated my first Christmas away from home.
I went to a golf tournament.
I tanned on the beach in Spain.
I lost $25 at the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco.
I went in Buckingham Palace.
I flew on so many airplanes.
I baked a homemade pumpkin pie.
I packed only two large suitcases to travel back to the USA.
I said one of the most tearful goodbyes.
And now, I’m home.
While my list is a bit out of sequential order and barely scratches the surface, you get the gist. It’s been quite the life so far.
And some things are only just beginning.
xx Kelly

Thanks Sam! It’s great to be home in the good old USA. And I know there are tons of adventures to be had here, though slightly different. But all good ones. At least we can cope with our readjusted lifestyles together! X
