It’s been nearly three weeks since the move to London.
Three beautiful, glorious weeks.
I’ve been pining over calling a place like this my home for some time. Waiting filled with wanderlust, dreaming that I may somehow become a part of something bigger, a great adventure of a lifetime.
And I have.
It’s London. Loud, boisterous streets filled with people from all walks of life. Quiet hidden alcoves and alleyways, still, soothing and calm. History on every block, every inch, and upon every flicker of your eyes. I’ve found a home in this vastly dynamic environment. It’s taken me awhile to absorb the fact that this is real and that I haven’t imagined this somewhere from the wildly imaginative corners of my childhood daydreams.
And I’ve been discovering, that in this reality, there’s a certain kind of freedom that comes with living in such a populated city. Each day passes by, you see hundreds of people that you’ll never get a glimpse of again. Even if you pass by your familiar storefronts, parks, historic buildings… No sight is quite the same. No day is quite the same.
It’s this uniqueness that I love about London. Disappearing into the depths of the underground, you can find your way to an entirely different world from where you had last left.
It is fair to say that I am absolutely in love.
We’ve moved in and settled into a cozy flat in the heart of it all. You can hear the cars, cabs, and buses dashing by, the busy bustle of people going to and from work each day. But at night, it quiets down. And the rapidly approaching winter darkness contrasts greatly with the bright twinkling streetlights outside our front windows.
There’s a magical aura that seems to be surrounding this city.
And now I can say that I’ve found myself completely swept up, immersed into this London living.

I’m so glad you are loving life in London! It really is an amazing City. When I lived there it inspired me everyday. London on a rainy day, in a cafe somewhere drinking tea and watching the hustle and bustle outside, that’s what London is all about.

You know, now that I’ve got a rockin pair of rainboots (and umbrella!) I’m more than happy to wander through the rainy days to cozy cafés. And rainy days in London are frequent! It’s just such a lovely place to live. xox

I love London but my boyfriend hates it so the chances of us moving there are pretty slim 🙁 I love going down for a weekend or even just a day trip though – there’s always so much going on! Hope you continue to enjoy your time in London 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more posts from you xx
