One of my new year’s resolutions was to look at things more positively.
Sometimes we can get bogged down with the mundane daily ins and outs. The Instagram algorithm. Stresses of public transport. The bustle of London living. Pressure to ‘make it’. I know I’ve been feeling it lately in a big way.
So I wanted to throw it back to something positive I used to write each week. I’m not sure if anyone remembers my Sunday Coffee Series? I used to write about the things that happened each week, what I was loving, and things I was looking forward to on a Sunday morning. I’m not quite bringing that back into action (if you are looking for weekly Sunday posts, my friend Allie has her Slow Sunday Club newsletter that you need to sign up for – it’s fantastic).
But instead to simply think about what made me smile or laugh out loud, the things that truly made me happy this week.
It turns out, when you’re actively focusing on the good and the positives, they slowly begin to consume you. I always like to think back to this Roald Dahl quote, “And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
Seven things that made me happy this week
Breakfast in bed.
I spent Monday night at The Mondrian and woke up to the most beautiful breakfast in bed. Then Leigh and I spent 45 minutes having a breakfast photoshoot. It was completely absurd from us in the best possible way.
KPW redesigned.
A few weeks, I decided that I want to go for a totally new ‘rebrand’ at the moment. Which means my photography style, colour palette and content will be changing. This week I finally started putting the plan into action. Gathering new content, putting together blog post ideas. I just feel really positive and happy about it all and can’t wait to get started on a new project.
Lunch dates with gal pals.
Allie and I met up this week at Ask For Janice, where we promptly decided that we need to visit more places like it. It’s interiors are gorgeous, there are plants everywhere and honestly, I want to decorate my flat exactly like it.
Handbags that carry it all.
I’ve been on the lookout for a new black handbag. You know the ones that hold anything and everything. A Mary Poppins bag – just without actually carrying around a tote everywhere. I’ve found exactly the one. Radley London kindly sent me the Globe Road bag. It fits my camera, purse, a notebook, makeup and all sorts of other miscellaneous things I’ve been sneaking into it over the course of the week. I’m fully planning on this babe coming with me to Paris in a few weeks time. Such an easy bag to carry for all the things I need.
Reading blogs again.
I started off the new year so strong with reading my favourite blogs, but I’ve found myself so busy that I stopped reading them. I’m back to it again though and I’m really craving finding some new lifestyle blogs to read (and not like, new to the world, just new to me), so if you have any favourites to share, I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
Selling and purging through my clothes.
This is so ridiculous, but I’ve finally compiled everything that has to go and I’ve slowly started putting it all online. I need a big wardrobe clear out – and this is the way forward. Whatever I can’t sell is headed straight to the charity shop.
Yoga and getting back into my workouts.
I’ve been feeling so much clarity from getting back into working out these past few weeks. But it really hit me this week. I feel good. I feel strong. And I feel like I’m ready to take on the world. Must be all those good endorphins.
So there you have it. My week filled with all things happy and good. Although, I should mention that a good cup of coffee (or 10 cups) is probably also a very big factor in keeping me in excellent spirits.
What are the things that made you smile this week?

PS. Radley London kindly sent this pretty black handbag for a collaboration, but all my fondness for it is all my own. Just look at it, of course I bloomin’ love it.
