Spent a very magical day exploring Arundel Castle 🏰! This is one of my favourite castles that I’ve been to in England. And it didn’t hurt that everyone kept asking me all day if this was ACTUALLY my home since I was dressed as a princess 👑

Tickets are £30 per person, but we spent about 4 hours there! Tickets include the gardens, castle and bedrooms and keep!

Welcome to Castle Fraser in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏰

OK I know you’re curious… Does it have a connection with Outlander?

Castle Fraser is a sprawling masterpiece! With a core that dates around 1450 (!!!), it was built between 1575 and 1636 by the 6th laird, Michael Fraser. It has secret staircases, lavish rooms, and the dreamiest estate grounds to wander. I think this is certainly one of the prettiest castles to be found 😍.

And to answer the question, no connection to our beloved Outlander. It just happens to share the name as our favourite, Jamie! Film locations are more west and south Scotland - I’d love to plan an Outlander film locations trip in the future too!

A dreamy countryside getaway to the Peak District

A dreamy countryside getaway to the Peak District @cavendishhotelbaslow 🌿🏰☀️

Located just over a 5 minute drive away from Chatsworth House - or you can also walk from the hotel through the fields if you’re keen on recreating Darcy walking through the fog scenes - we settled in for our stay on a gorgeous English summer day. We truly couldn’t have been luckier with the weather.

Be sure to book into The Garden Room Restaurant for dinner + drinks out on the terrace. Breakfast the next morning was lovely too in The Gallery Restaurant too. My only wish is that we’d had a longer stay booked, but that’ll have to be one for our next visit! 🥰
