How to rock a pale H&M pink dress with pale skin

I’m loving this weather in London right now.

I was saying this week, that this is my favourite time of year because I can pretend to be summery, while still rocking boots and a jacket. I’m kind of obsessed with light dresses and bold jackets at the moment (and always in love with boots) so bring on the summer days! But also you know, I’m trying to keep it cool.

I saw these pieces, the H&M pink dress and jacket, last week and knew that they had to be mine.

For years I used to stay far away from pale colours. My skin tone is, you guessed it, the palest. I’m the one seeking out the lightest shade of foundation in any MAC store. I’m buying the suncream with SPF 100. But there’s something about getting older that lets you embrace things in ways you never used to.

So, I’m ready to start embracing colours I used to run away from. Enter this chiffon pale H&M pink dress. 

I knew that when I saw the dress I needed the jacket.

How fantastic are bomber jackets right now? I’ve started adding way too many to my closet. This H&M black jacket with pink stripes, I needed. I’ve also found an alternative to the mix: Satin Black Jacket.

Please note the horrific bruise from when I forgot that we bought a shoe rack for our hallway and smashed into it one morning. Oh how we laugh.

My stunner of a clutch from Zara, this green and gold mini pineapple clutch. It also comes in pink and if you don’t have this in your life, you’re doing something wrong. I swear it.

I’m also in love with my pink sunnies from Zara as well. But I can’t find them online, so here’s my close match: Black Enamelled Sunnies.

So there you have it, it’s totally possible for the palest of pale to pull off light colours.

And I’m honestly loving everything that H&M and Zara are coming out with right now. They’ve got some seriously kick ass spring and summer styles… and I think browsing their shops is where you’ll find me on this sunny afternoon in London!
