Happy Sunday and a very Happy UK Mother’s Day to all the Mum’s out there!
So no, I have not yet sent any gifts across the atlantic, because Mother’s Day in the US isn’t until May. Sorry Mom!
It’s been quite a week. We’re finally into the season of spring and I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by lately. I keep thinking it was just yesterday I was home for Christmas, but that was nearly three months ago now.
Don’t you feel like when we get older time goes by so quickly? I need to slow. it. down.
So this Sunday I’m taking a little moment to sip on my coffee and let the week sink in.
TIME FOR YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF SUNDAY COFFEE…
1. Low, Slow & Juke
I finally got around to publishing about my trip to Low, Slow & Juke! I’m going to start adding reviews back into the Kelly Prince Writes space again. Life can sidetrack you sometimes, you know? Low, Slow & Juke was a marvelous night and you can read about all the foods here…
2. I’m on YouTube!
Sort of. While I do have a channel that just sits there until I become crafty enough to create videos, I had my first video debut with George at ASDA for London Fashion Week. I’m among a very talented crew of Fashion Bloggers as well… let me know what you think!
3. Health food for the win
I’m obviously trying to become a healthy person now. When I got back after the Christmas holidays I 100% gave up bread and sweets… for about two weeks. It felt amazing to do and I liked how I was so mentally sharp during that time. It’s about time I get back to that. So I’m steadily going to work to cut these things out of my diet for 5 days out of the week. Let’s see how it goes, shall we? Wish me luck!
4. Protein Shakes
Speaking of health, I’m on a protein shakes kick! The Equinox gym makes these incredible smoothies and I’m absolutely hooked. On Sunday mornings I tend to go for my workout and then read the paper while I sip. That’s happiness.
5. My Dad’s Here!
He landed on Friday morning and it’s been so nice having him visit for a couple of days. I’ve taken time off from work so that I can spend more time with him and it’s been wonderful.
6. Breakfast on a Friday
Annnnd days off mean that breakfast out on a Friday is a go! Of course, hotel check ins are a nightmare for when you fly and land somewhere at 7am. So we tossed my dad’s things at our flat and went out for breakfast to Café Phillies, which is this fantastic little cafe slash wine bar. I could go there every day. I love it.
7. The Ivy in Kensington
You guys know I’m a West London kind of girl. So we booked into The Ivy for Friday night dinner. At this point, I should probably be handed over some sort of commission because we bring everyone we know there. I love the interior, the service and the food and drinks are fantastic. Naturally, I’ll be back again soon.
8. Running class part two
I got up yesterday morning and did it again, running class at the gym. It’s 45 minutes of torture and I am always amazed at how good I feel when I’m done.
9. Chelsea v Stoke City
Yep, you know my dad’s in town when we’re planning a weekend for football! Our good friend sorted out tickets for us to join the Stoke fans to see the match. I think it’s always much more fun when you have a personal reason to watch the game. I’ve never been inside Stamford Bridge to watch a game, and it was a fun experience.
10. Tim Hortons Coffee
My dad brought me a GIANT tin of coffee that of course will only last me about a month. But I’m sipping on it now and it takes like home. 🙂
This week had been jam packed with meals out, exploring London and I haven’t even managed to fit everything into my Sunday Coffee series.
So there’s plenty to come on Kelly Prince Writes in the next few weeks. Mostly food.
Kelly xoxo
