WOOHOO.
Sunday Coffee took last week off, but we’re BACK you guys.
It’s been one of those weeks where I find I’m trying to catch up on posts and get consistent with the whole blogging there. When I achieve the perfect blog/life/work balance, I’ll definitely let you know. Last week I didn’t do a Sunday Coffee. I was busy getting my blog back up to (almost real time).
So what did I get up to the past two weeks then?
It’s been another busy one for this London blogger and I’m looking forward to the day when I write about my week of relaxing and spa trips, but until then, here we go.
TIME FOR YOUR SUNDAY COFFEE
1. The best cocktails I may have ever had at the Mango Tree
I went along for a fabulous re-visit to the glorious Mango Tree, along to arrive for them to ask if we wanted to start out night with cocktails. UM. OKAY. We ordered the most fun ones on the menu to celebrate being back in London and all. Cocktails in pineapples and coconuts = dreams come true. And their food is top notch as well, so if you’re looking for a night out to impress and fab Thai food, then the Mango Tree is the way to go.
2. Holiday posts are coming along you guys!
Yes, I’m finally getting through my travel adventures by writing about, editing my photos and getting my blog on. I didn’t think it would take me actual months to complete these, but apparently I took a lot of photos. What can I say? Check out what was happening in San Francisco, our trip into Muir Woods, and then visit uber-cool Sausalito.
3. Swimsuits from George at ASDA
Never have a loved a one piece more in my life. I used to swim competitively, and gone are the flashbacks to skintight suits that were literally there to streamline my body to reach a faster time in the pool. Now? I get to wear cute suits all for STYLE.
4. CHICAGO TOWN PIZZA AND OMG.
When someone contacts you to ask if you want to be involved in a pizza party? I think, YES. All the yes. So Joe and I threw ourselves a little pizza party at the flat with Chicago Town pizzas and yum. I’ve absolutely found my new go-to for frozen pizzas. (I mean, you’re lying if you say you don’t always have one on hand in the freezer, am I right?)
5. #StyleOnTour with New Look
YEP. In case you missed it, here’s my holiday helper post with New Look, where I created a holiday wardrobe capsule. I’m pretty in love with everything I’ve picked. New Look is pretty much reigning the holiday shop right now. You can find my white jumpsuit here.
6. Getting back into my freelance writing
It’s been awhile, but I’m FINALLY getting back to my freelance writing. I’ve proposed a couple of ideas to Time Out that I’m waiting to hear back on. And I need to get involved in some Culture Trip content again. Going away for a month really throws a spanner in the works!
7. Best Hot Dogs in Londontown
But, I did happen to write up a quick little piece for The Culture Trip when I first got back on where to find the best hot dogs in London. Happy eating!
8. Give me all the ASOS
So I put in quite a LARGE order to ASOS last night, and while I’m pretty giddy about the whole thing. I just got an email through that two of my items (that I was SUPER excited about) were out of stock and now I don’t get them. While this is sad for my wardrobe, it’s even worse because now I’m trying to replace them with yet, ANOTHER ORDER of stuff. Oh well.
9. Sundays are for wine in the park
TWO whole weekends ago… well, the weather was so beautiful that we decided to pick up a cool bottle of white wine and venture to our local park. I have to say, that while I miss living in the states, where you can just pop into your backyard (or garden) to relax, having the park right on our doorstep is a good alternative. We grabbed picnic blankets, and Joe took some cheese and crackers for us. If I could spend all Sundays like this, I would.
10. How is this life so BUSY
Writing this Sunday Coffee post, I’m exhausted. I have so much going on, and so much that I need to fill you in on, that I’m almost at a loss on where to keep going. So, I’m leaving things here for today before I get totally boring, or end up writing a mini novel.
But here’s my last thing before I go. This week I’m travelling to Nice.
On a more somber note, this week I’m planning on travelling to Nice for work. When I first heard I was going a week or so ago, we were all elated. Now under the circumstances? I think it’s going to be a much harder trip. I feel for the families, friends and loved ones who were affected. We’re staying right along the Promenade, and while a part of me is fearful in a way to travel to Europe right now… The other part of me is yelling fuck this. Society is good, there are good people out there, and we have to believe in the good. So I’m going to keep on living and keep travelling because the minute we stop is the minute we lose.
I know I’m not alone in this viewpoint. So let’s get out. Let’s live, let’s travel and let’s do it all. OK?
And have a Happy Sunday Coffee.
Kelly xoxo
