Happy Sunday Coffee!
This week was a weird one.
You know when nothing goes according to plan? In work, in life, in everything? Yeah, it’s been one of those. I had a really tough time getting through the week. Everything was a struggle. I was exhausted, but luckily I’m also surrounded by so much positivity. This weekend, I’m really happy I’ve been able to totally switch off. I needed a good sleep in. A day of completely staying indoors and watching Harry Potter films and eating dark chocolate Kit-Kats and drinking coffee (and wine). And a cheeky late night order from Pizza Express.
If that’s not the cure to everything, then I don’t know what is.
Anyways it’s…
Time for your Sunday Coffee
Friends to the rescue
Obviously my week started off on a sour note last Monday, and what better way to have a pick me up than a friend who says, right. I’m coming over and we’ll have wine. We ended up watching ridiculous quiz shows and drinking Pinot Grigio into the night. With Mondays like that, they really aren’t too bad after all.
Love London Awards
Time Out asked me to write up my favourite West London haunts for the Love London Awards… It’s my neck of the woods in Londontown and honestly, there are so many amazing places to choose from that deserve to be on the list. In the end? I narrowed it into my top 5: The Abingdon, Café Philles, Yashin Sushi, The Roof Gardens and Windsor Castle. Now come on and get voting!
Habitat Light Club
Whoever said the clubbing scene in London was dead clearly didn’t understand the new concept. It’s called home decor clubbing and it’s all the rage. No seriously. Habitat have brought out their new autumn/winter lighting range in the most unique way. Breaking it down on the dance floor while oogling copper lamps is definitely my new kind of jam. My pal Katy invited me and Claire along as her plus ones and honestly, we had a great time. We also met up with Helen, who was the loveliest and I was reintroduced to Natasha who makes absolutely banging vlogs on YouTube. I’m so thrilled to have met such wonderful people through blogging and it makes me happy in this giddy little way. Who would have thought that a few years ago that meeting strangers on the internet could be OK after all? It’s actually the best.
Running discoveries
Yep, I’m getting on that #FitFam bandwagon with my new routine. Although, this weekend has been a complete resting one (I think I needed it), throughout the working week, I’ve discovered all sorts of amazing gems where I live on my morning runs. How gorgeous are these mews? Seriously, it’s massive home goals of mine to live down the mews of London. Fingers crossed for someday!
Holiday dreaming
OK. It’s been nearly three months (EEK!) since I’ve come back from my month in the states and I have to say, I’m getting itchy feet again. I want to travel. I had this sudden realisation the other day that I haven’t done enough and I’m panicking a little bit. Am I living life to the fullest? Am I exploring like I should be? Honestly? I’m not. Maybe it’ll be a goal for 2017, but I think that at least once a month I need to get out of London and go see somewhere new.
Ditching gel nails
This is somewhat devestating, but I think I’m going to quit with the gel nails for awhile. After maybe a year or so of heavily relying on these babies to make my nails look pretty… I think I’ve got to ditch them. My nails are wrecked. So for the first time in nearly a YEAR, I painted my own nails – and I’m super excited about it. I also realise this is beyond a first world problem.
And one more thing…
Actually, that’s it for this week’s Sunday Coffee. I cannot believe how quiet it’s been. But maybe that’s what I needed after a hectic few weeks. I’m looking forward to starting on a positive note tomorrow. I have some fun things planned during the week, so it should stay pretty happy! Stay tuned!
