It’s a blog hiatus in the working, yep, we’re talking about another trip back to America. This time with British Airways!
When I think back, it seems like it wasn’t that long ago that I was here, but it was. Six months ago I was home for Christmas. Maybe it’s not long for some, and time truly has flown in between, but I’m happy to be back in the states.
So what’s brought me and JPW himself stateside? TWO WEDDINGS.
The first? Our ah-mazing friends! Joe’s best man met my sorority sister two years ago at our wedding and um, two years later, we’re standing up in their wedding party. They might be the most perfect couple I’ve ever seen and crazy enough, Joe and I wouldn’t have matched them in a million years.
The second? My incredibly talented cousin Becky is marrying her high school sweetheart. Talk about your favourite 90s movie in the making. I’m honoured to be a part of their big day at the end of June. And Joe is honoured to try his luck at drinking the bar dry on their big day. Wahoo!
In between? We’re talking NYC, San Francisco and Napa Valley. I figured if we were travelling home, it was about time I visited my own little mecca (USA’s birthplace of wine, maybe, I’m totally making that up).
But before we could do any of that, we had our flight on British Airways.
As usual, I asked kindly made Joe take outfit photos of me. And then, I nabbed one of him too, and I know I don’t brag about this enough (and I really should), but look at him you guys? I got to marry this guy. He’s handsome (I didn’t even EDIT THIS LIKE ALL OF MINE) and the nicest person I know. And he deals with my insanity/being an Instagram husband on a daily basis so he deserves a medal or something. So, kudos to me, and sorry for being so sappy.
Onto the flight...
Believe it or not, I’ve never flown British Airways across the Atlantic before and let me tell you, as someone who fears the sky, the wind and anything else that may rock the boat plane, it was the best flight I may have ever had. Granted, that’s two Xanax’s and two wines in, BUT STILL. I watched How to be Single and I laughed, I cried (again, might be the work of the wine and Xanax but hey ho).
And I started reading Me Before You, because hello, six hours of free fun times and I’m only a few chapters in, but I know I’m going to bawl my eyes out reading it. Damn you emotions.
Plus, I got to glimpse a little bit of coverage that I secured for a client in British Airway’s High Life mag (go me!)!
It honestly was a winning flight all around, and when we landed, we made the beeline for Pennsburg for our pal’s wedding. It couldn’t have been more perfect, my friend Alyssa had an all star crew for bridesmaids (no bias here, obviously). And she looked drop dead GORGEOUS. She could have worn sweats and still looked better than us by miles. I’m not even kidding.
I was lucky though, I had a hot date, who matched me any everything. His best man speech made me laugh, but most importantly not fall asleep. Seriously, Joe was practicing his speech the night before and because I was so jet lagged, I fell asleep mid way through. I’m a good wife guys, I swear.
The purple was beautiful and ah, I’m excited for our next wedding on tap!
In the meantime though, New York City was calling…
