Over the past few weeks I’ve started to feel like I might actually be The Flash.
My mind is going a mile a minute. My body isn’t slowing down. And my schedule has been relentless.
From jump starting my mornings and barreling out the door to a workout class and then off to work, it’s been hard to take a moment to rest and relax. Especially in the past week where I’ve been rushing and planning to get everything ready for our trip from London to New York.
I don’t want to say I haven’t had a second to myself, but um, I kind of haven’t.
So I’m the first to admit that I’ll take any tips and tricks to save myself time. I’ll wash my hair at night, I’ll attempt to pack a lunch ahead of work, I’ve almost given up straightening my hair and I’m even going lighter than normal on the makeup (hey, it’s the summer months, so it’s been sort of refreshing…) And in addition to my daily routine of cutting down on wasting time, I might have come across something that not only saves me more time, but has also boosted my creativity levels, stimulating my body and my mind.
What am I on about? Coffee. Obviously.
But can all of that come in the shape of a cuppa? You betcha. Because finding extra time for myself time right now is THE BEST THING EVER. And that’s something I can 100% get on board with.
Don’t get confused. This isn’t instant coffee you’re used to sloshing down at the office in the mornings. I remember coming to England for the first time ever and realizing that people had this thing called instant coffee. I’d never tried instant coffee in my life before that. Strictly speaking, I was a brewed coffee kind of gal. And well… when I tried the instant coffee, I kind of hated it.
There’s just something exceptional about brewing a hot cup of coffee. It’s fresh, smells amazing and warms the soul. So yes, it takes a little longer in the mornings to make — you have to prep the coffee pot the night before — but there’s nothing like it. Right?
No, apparently there is. I’ve been proven wrong by the ultimate coffee gurus at Lyons Coffee and I’m definitely one to happily admit when I’m wrong. First of all, we’re not talking a crappy cup of instant coffee. It’s actual, quality coffee in an instance. This is the real deal.
Lyons Coffee have created these incredible coffee bags to add a little bit of luxury to your mornings.
For the days that you don’t want to make a full pot of coffee or for when you’re looking for a super quick fix, Lyons Coffee comes to the rescue. In the past week, I am fairly sure that I had a coffee in my hand at every moment. A solid 75% of them were from Lyons Coffee.
It’s like making a cup of tea. But instead of tea bags, it’s coffee bags. WHO KNEW THIS EXISTED?! Yes, so it’s like making a cup of tea but for coffee drinkers. It’s essentially my new answer for when everyone asks if I want a cup of tea (the answer is no) and when I want coffee instead. YAY.
The Lyons Coffee crew roast and grind their beans, before locking the freshness and flavour into individually foil wrapped coffee bags. It means you can enjoy great tasting, fresh roast and 100% ground coffee from the very finest beans, whenever you want it and as strong as you like it. They even have a range suited for every taste, whether you’re craving something light, rich and full bodied or the dark roast. There’s actually a decaf as well, but we all know I’m not reaching for that right now.
So four quick steps to coffee in an instance with Lyons Coffee:
- Add a coffee bag to your cup.
- Pour hot water over
- Let it sit for around three minutes.
- Remove the bag. I’d even say you could leave the bag in for a little while longer if you like, depending on your coffee strength preferences.
I like that in the past few weeks Lyons Coffee has become my new go-to. Because instant just doesn’t do it as good. And it’s not every single day that I have the ability to make an entire pot of coffee to see me through. It’s my new alternative coffee bag life, and I kind of am obsessed you guys. It smells authentic, and Joe even remarked that while I was taking photos that the flat smelled really good. SO MUCH BETTER THAN INSTANT – I CAN’T EVEN.
And in the spirit of saving time, I’ve been creating coffees (and even iced coffees) as I head out of my flat too. Whether I’m off to work, popping into meetings or hey, just doing my weekly food shop.
I’d even recommend making your own little Affogato dessert treats in the evenings using these. But stay tuned to see more of that when I’m back from holiday over on my Instagram feed.
So, next time before you reach for that horrendous instant coffee, get yourself involved with my new BFFs and their fresh roasted coffee bags. They’re helping me reclaim my time back, without compromising on flavour and quality. You can find these babes shockingly, everywhere: Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Ocado and Nisa, alongside ordering on their website.
I have to admit, I’m a converted woman.
