Old Town Corfu (Braavos)

One of our days in Corfu, we decided to go and visit the Old Corfu Town. 

The incredibly beautiful Old Town. Or what I am now affectionately referring to as the city of Braavos. For the Game of Thrones fans out there.

The hot dry heat, with luxurious greenery, mixed with ancient clay colored buildings. I felt like I should have been wearing a flowing lightweight gown. But unfortunately, I’m not Khaleesi, despite the eyebrow similarities. Moving on.

Old Corfu Town is absolutely stunning.

Except in the middle of summer, the heat is a little bit oppressive. So we quickly found ourselves a cool little restaurant, covered in the shade of trees and umbrellas. Not exactly off the beaten path, but we were there to be tourists. Might as well play the part.

We ordered two beers, a pizza and salad.

It was just so hot in Old Town that we enjoyed the shade for a bit before wandering through the streets.

Obviously stopping for something cool along the way…

It’s definitely a busy place filled with locals and tourists alike, but it’s not terribly overrun.

There’s plenty of space to roam in and out through the main and side streets.

Eventually we made our way to one of the top sites, the Old Fortress, that provides you with views of the entire city.

It’s certainly a climb to get there. And with the heat, there’s little relief. Ponytail ready. And a few water bottles in your handbag.

Might have overheard an American or two on the climb. We’re obviously all over the place. Unavoidable.

After what feels like an eternity (it’s not, it was just so so warm out) you reach the top.

Breathtaking. Stunning views. You truly feel so far away from London when you’re in a place like this.

After descending from the climb, we truly felt the need to get closer to the water.

All the perfect blues.

I don’t think I’ve quite adjusted being back in London…
