It’s been awhile since we’ve been away on a proper holiday.
Toes in the sand. Sun in the sky and troubles miles and miles away.
So it was about time that we went away to celebrate. Since we couldn’t manage to go away for our actual one year anniversary of marriage (whoop whoop) we went a few weeks later to spoil ourselves on the gorgeous island of Corfu.
Despite Greece being in slight economic peril at the moment, we went at the perfect time.
It all started with us booking a British Airways holiday. The one stop shop for flights and a hotel. I enjoy British Airways for free alcohol, comfortable seats and a relaxing environment. As a nervous flyer, these are things that keep me happy and sane. In addition to these feelings of happiness, we booked an all inclusive resort. It’s not normally our style. We live to explore. But this trip was about slowing down and worrying less.
Cue our 5AM venture to the airport through the quiet streets of London. This was right before the London heat wave so I sported my Valentino espadrilles, a light tank and jeans. Classic travel combo.
Everything went like clockwork on our way out, flight on time and with last looks at the terminal…
Up up and nearly three hours later we arrived.
Sunny. Glorious. Hot. Greece.
Our hotel wasn’t too far away from the airport, so we hopped in a cab and were on our way to ultimate relaxation.
With views like that… we immediately went to the beach. How could you not?
A few drinks on the beach later, a good book and a little bit of snoozing. Best holiday ever? Yes. Yes it is.
We ended the night early, with drinks and dinner at the hotel.
Not a bad life friends.

Oh, so *jealous* of you right now. Work basically bans us from taking summer vacays as it’s the busiest time of the year, so I am literally sipping away on a glass of wine pretending I’m in Greece. Gorgeousness! I always love your travel posts 🙂

Thanks so much lovely. You need to try and get your holiday time, that’s definitely a bit uncalled for. No holiday? Ugh. Greece is calling your name! xx

I’ve seen so many dreamy Greece trips recently, I really need to go! Those beach ‘do nothing’ holidays are definitely needed sometimes! x

Looks simply stunning! What was the name of the resort you stayed in? I’ve been looking for an all inclusive in Greece as a way to tempt my father to come with me! x
