Have you ever seen something on social medida and thought ‘Wow – I’d LOVE to visit there someday’.
The Manor House in Castle Combe has always been the Pinterest, Instagram, social media love of my life.
If I could wake up tomorrow, living in a regal Manor House like this…
Well, it would be a dream come true.
In the meantime… the beauty of The Manor House being a gorgeous hotel in England means that luckily anyone can visit.
And visit we have!
Over the years, we’ve made plenty of stops into the village of Castle Combe. We’ve even stayed at their sister hotel, The Castle Inn, the local pub in Castle Combe village.
But today, let me take you on our long awaited journey as we explore the enchanting Manor House hotel.
Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, this historic gem sits in the centre of ‘the prettiest village in England’ and promises a royal retreat that leaves you feeling like you’ve stepped into your very own fairytale.
Stay at The Manor House
As you approach the grand entrance of The Manor House, you can’t help but feel like you’re driving into a medieval masterpiece.
The building, dating back to the 14th century, feels like a step back in time in the best way. It’s also a little bit like what I imagine Malfoy Manor would look like in real life!
The Manor House offers a huge selection of rooms to suit anyone and everyone.
From simpler styles through to more opulent. There are even cottage room suites along the mews on the property – there’s absolutely plenty of choice. For our stay, we were booked into the hot tub suite situated along the cottage mews at The Manor House.
It’s a short walk from the entrance and we were welcomed to a gorgeous room with a plush four-poster beds, regal furnishings, and stunning views of the lush gardens.
Obviously a huge highlight for us was the private hot tub right outside of the room! We celebrated with a cheeky drink, soaking in the skies and scenery.
Dinner at The Manor House + The Castle Inn
A royal retreat deserves indulging in exquisite dining – and of course – The Manor House delivers with its Michelin-starred restaurant, Bybrook.
Sadly this was closed for dinner upon our visit so we didn’t get to try it out. The restaurant is open from Wednesday through Sunday. However, you can still enjoy a delicious meal a la carte in their lounge any day of the week.
And you can even venture a stone’s throw away to The Castle Inn’s pub for a bite to eat right in the village.
It’s about a 3 minute walk from The Manor House. We’ve had dinner here a few times before, each time, always lovely. The entire place also makes me feel like I’m Cameron Diaz in The Holiday.
Enchanting Surroundings: The charming village of Castle Combe
Venture beyond The Manor House grands, and you’ll discover the beauty of Castle Combe. It’s truly one of my favourite places in England. And you can see im,ediately why.
Take a stroll through the cobbled streets lined with honey-hued cottages, and it’s easy to imagine yourself in a scene from a period drama (as I frequently do).
Explore the village’s charming shops, visit the local church, and perhaps indulge in a traditional afternoon tea at one of the quaint tea rooms.
Amazing things you can’t miss in The Cotswolds:
And we’ll definitely be back…
As our stay at The Manor House came to an end, we really didn’t want to leave! It felt like such a magical stay – and I can’t wait until I can book the next visit!
