…the Queen Elizabeth cruise ship that is.
As part of my completely spoiled Christmas, J gifted me with tickets aboard the Queen Elizabeth.
We set sail in Southampton and ventured out into the choppy North Sea before sidling down the Elbe river into Hamburg, Germany.
So come on then, let’s have a look.
From the top deck, we gazed out to the city of Southampton.
And a little peek of the boat…
Of course, we had a bit of champagne waiting for us in our room.
Cheers to the Queen Elizabeth!
And then it was time to set sail into the night…
A whirlwind of champagne, cocktails and wine led to an unfortunate lack of photos from the rest of the first night.
However, we woke up the next day ready to explore the ship.
Bravely at our room’s balcony…and sporting my stylish seasick band.
We spent the afternoon indulging with lots of treats an a formal sit down of afternoon tea.
A lovely couple stood behind us in the queue and the husband boldly declared his disdain for Americans. Delightfully unaware of my presence, hopefully he was a bit embarrassed after hearing me speaking to J.
Luckily we were sat far from them!
So we tucked in.
Later that evening we walked a few laps around the boat as our exercise. After all of the sweets and savories it was a necessary excursion. And you couldn’t beat that view!
With the wind in our hair, we admired the sunset.
Before we knew it, it was time to head off to dine yet again. This time, in our formal wear… stopping in the Grand Lobby for an obligatory cruise photo.
In seemingly no time at all, our two days flew by and we were docking the next morning in Hamburg.
Waking up a bit sleepily at half seven, we peered outside our balcony and were greeted with a German flag, Guten Morgan!
And welcome to Hamburg!
After disembarking the ship, we walked through the cruise terminal before catching our transfer to the airport.
Taking a last look at the Queen Elizabeth…
What a beauty!
More on our very brief time in Hamburg in my next post… but for now, I’m packing to head back to America.
Ever the traveler!
xx Kelly
