Harrods has to be one of the top tourist destinations in London.
Whether you go in to purchase an extravagant handbag, or popping into the food hall for a glass of champagne, we’ve all been there.
What you may not have done however, is sit in Harrods for a proper meal. Enter the Mango Tree.
I’ve probably passed the Mango Tree dozens of times, but I’ve never had the agenda of visiting Harrods to eat. This Friday night was very different. A cool spring night led us to Knightsbridge just as the sky was getting dark.
Briskly, we walked to our destination, weaving in and out of the evening shoppers.
Ah, the Mango Tree.
We were greeted so warmly by the staff, seriously Juliette might make the place the phenomenon that it is (although the food is truly out of this world good).
Since it was a Friday night, we headed straight in for the alcohol. I tried a glass of the Pinot Grigio, as recommended by Juliette and Joe went for a classic, Singha Beer.
It took us ages before we finally decided what we wanted to eat. Fun fact: everything at the Mango Tree sounds good. I ended up picking a few different things and taking advice from the staff on what to get.
We started with crunchy prawn crackers to nibble on before our starters arrived.
Prawn dumplings with white truffle oil and Alaskan King Crab with Lobster, topped with caviar. **heart eye emojis EVERYWHERE*
OMG. Explosions of flavour, these are actually melt in your mouth delicious.
And ahem, the vegetable spring rolls.
I’m starting to get food envy just writing about it. You could definitely go to the Mango Tree for the starters alone. They are incredible.
But all good things must come to an end aka we seriously ate these in .0005 seconds flat.
It wasn’t long before the papaya salad arrived looking like a beauty in stylish martini glass.
I was going to order this as my main, but Juliette really wasn’t about to let that happen. She convinced me that their famous Black Cod was exactly what I needed in my life. She was SO ON POINT.
Look at this gorgeousness. I honestly fell in love.
We wholeheartedly agreed we would need to come back and just order that. Joe also ordered the BBQ Pork, which was sliced and served alongside a side of greens.
The pork was lovely, but the true winner in my eyes was the cod. Just too good. Is that possible?
It is. It really is.
They don’t do dessert at Mango Tree, but that’s not such a bad thing. Instead of desserts, we enjoyed sipping on another round of drinks.
Not bad for a Friday you guys, not bad at all.
I really enjoyed our trip into the Mango Tree. The staff were genuinely the loveliest, Joe and I agreed that truly good service is hard to find sometimes in the UK, and the Mango Tree ticked all the boxes. Fantastic food, lovely people and a gorgeous atmosphere.
Too be honest, I could go back tomorrow. I LOVED IT.
