SUNDAY COFFEE.
You guys, I know that it’s been a few weeks. Um actually the last Sunday Coffee was on May 22. I hope you’ll let me off easy. I can promise you, for the foreseeable future, Sunday Coffee is back.
I’ve been off living a life away from the internet, away from blogging and well, away from the UK.
I tried my hardest to keep up to date with blogging while I was away. Life got in the way. And I think that’s OK. I’m allowed let myself take time off. I’m allowed to play catch up now. I’m allowed to enjoy the journey. It’s like I’m slowing chanting this to myself as a justification.
I think so many of us suffer from writer’s/blogger’s guilt when we go offline for awhile. It’s hard because we absolutely love writing and sharing our experiences, interacting with readers. It’s been challenging to step back.
But I have to say, it’s been worthwhile. Now I can come back with even better content than before and a fresh mind.
So it’s all for the greater good of KPW. Yes it is.
My only problem now, is trying to fill you totally in on EVERYTHING for this week’s Sunday Coffee. Grab a cuppa, grab your brekkie and tuck in.
TIME FOR YOUR SUNDAY COFFEE…
1. Travel posts
I shouldn’t be too disappointed in myself, because I have been posting the odd travel and Instagram bit from my time in the states. We landed in New York City, went to a wedding in Pennsburg, back to New York then off to San Francisco, to the wineries in Napa and then flew across the country to Buffalo, New York before driving down to Pittsburgh, back to Buffalo and then a plane ride back to London. Tired yet? So am I. Most people assume a month off work is like a dream come true, and while it’s nice to have some down time, I was fully on the go. Can’t you tell? I think my next trip away will be to a beach where I can lay outside and go absolutely no where…
2. What’s in your #Shoedrobe?
Just before I left London, the fab folks at Moda in Pelle sent me across a sporty pair of sandals to rock this summer. I’ve finally been back and able to put together my post on these babies. I’m 100% convinced that sporty luxe is the perfect style for me to start incorporating into my life.
3. Maxi dresses for the summer
God love a maxi dress. And House of Fraser totally have you covered if you’re in the market for a new one. Hint, you’re in the market for a new one. I’m in love with this Miss Selfridge beauty. I wore it consistently while I was in the states. Light and flowy, this dress took me from casual afternoon food shopping to a fancy dinner out. Perfect!
4. Mango Tree part deux
So, you guys remember how much I loved the Mango Tree in Harrods? I had the chance to check out their larger London restaurant. Was it better than Harrods? Both are incredible, but um, they had a dessert TRAY. I won’t spoil too much on it, but expect a post up this week about my visit!
5. Cork and Bottle wine and dine
Last Saturday, I met up with my pals at Cork and Bottle in Leicester Square. Yes, we hear the words Leicester Square and think, avoid at all costs. But it was this hidden away little wine bar, that’s all located at the bottom of a spiraling staircase and if you didn’t know where to go, you’d completely miss it. It’s adorable on all counts, so I’m now recommending it to everyone. Naturally, they have a kick ass wine list.
6. Pride Weekend parties!
We found ourselves out for Pride in London last weekend. It was one of those things, where we were in central London and weren’t planning a night out and then found ourselves REALLY INTO IT. Like, I wish I’d been rainbow decorated with all the glitter. Sadly, I was not. But, we made up for it with moves on the dance floor and all the G&Ts at Bar Soho. So much fun.
7. George at ASDA for swimwear
GUYS. I have the most amazing one piece I think I’ve ever owned in my life from George at ASDA. I cannot wait for this post to go live this week. If you missed it, I was opening all of this week’s mail on my Snapchat.
8. New Look Holiday Essentials
I’m currently also working on a post in collaboration with New Look on holiday styles. I took the snaps yesterday and AH. I’m in love. Cannot wait to share!
9. Gym time!
Naively I thought that during my month away, I’d get back in shape, eat healthy and come back to London feeling refreshed and glowing. These were obvious lies I told myself. I ate all the food, drank all the wine and barely put on my trainers. So. It’s back to the grind in London. I’ve set myself up with a work out schedule. I’m aiming to go before work to my beloved Equinox and trying to walk home after work for an added boost instead of taking the bus. Weekends are for running classes and I think I *might* give myself Fridays off. All motivational tweets/texts are encouraged please.
10. Mixing it all up
Last but not least, I figured I’d keep you guys in the loop that I’m going to be mixing in my current content with travel content for the next few weeks. I think that’s the best way to keep it all fresh, while throwing it back to my stateside travels. Hope that works for you guys! Feedback is always encouraged.
That’s all I’ve got time for this week I’m afraid.
Shockingly, much more has happened and I can’t believe I’m only just scratching the surface with this week’s Sunday Coffee. I’m getting back into it though, it’s a busy summer!
