Looking for a nice drinks spot? To keep cool in the London heat wave?
Look no further. Copa De Cava has everything you need and more.
Located in the heart of the city, Copa De Cava can be found underground, keeping you cool during these hot months.
Just off Blackfriars, it’s not difficult to get to. But I took a stroll down from St. Paul’s as it was a gorgeous day out. While I’m not normally keen to hid out in a basement restaurant on such a gorgeous day, it offered the cool relaxing vibe that was necessary after a long day where you just need the lights dimmed and a great glass of something in hand.
We started out by trying a bit of bubbly.
The menu has plenty to choose from, so if you pop in, be sure to ask the staff what they recommend depending on your mood.
We ordered a few appetizers as well. We were only staying for a bit before heading out for the evening, so we opted for a simple tomato and balsamic dish, the Tomate Con Arzúa.
As well as the cured ham with a bit of bread and sauce.
And lastly, the garlic prawns.
My favorite dish was by far the tomatoes but that shouldn’t surprise anyone. J was taken with the garlic prawns and ham.
I decided that given the sultry environment of Copa De Cava that after we’d finished the cava we needed glasses of red wine as well. The Rioja Tinto Organic goes down extremely well.
Every once in awhile, I really enjoy a glass of red wine and this one was honestly so good we almost ordered another glass. Almost.
However, our time at Copa De Cava was short lived as we had to head out for the evening, but it’s definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re looking for deep, quiet conversations, dark corners and a stunning glass of vino.
