Golden hour magic at the Giant’s Causeway ✨🌊

There’s something magical about standing (or sitting!) where myth meets geology. Did you know that the legends say the rock formations were created by a giant named Finn McCool? Science says volcanic activity! 🌋

In the evenings after the visitor centre has closed, you’re still able to go and explore the Giant’s Causeway, but the main car park will be closed. So you can park a little ways away in the Causeway Coast Carl park (£10 for the day) and walk down. It takes about a half hour ish to walk down and it’s well worth it for these dramatic sunsets 🌅.

We spent two nights at Thornbury Castle an ACTUAL CASTLE IN ENGLAND 🏰 in the King Henry VIII suite - one of the most beautiful, unique and possibly one of the oldest rooms I’ve ever stayed in! This is the room that King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn ACTUALLY stayed in back in 1535!

Seriously make sure to visit this bucket list castle in your life!! The best view of Neuschwanstein Castle is now right here: The Marienbrücke bridge! 🌁

PS please note that the amazing photo spot areas you might have seen online where you can sit amongst the woodland overlooking the castle are now roped off behind barbed wire for safety. And ugh, I’m such a rule follower I wouldn’t dream of trying to circumvent the wires just for a photo. So my advice is to stick to the bridge for your epic shots! 🥰

You can’t miss this famous bookshop in Venice, Libreria Acqua Alta 📚📖🛶

The name itself means “High Water Bookshop” and you can tell why… books are fitted into bathtubs, boats and waterproof bins to keep safe from the typical Venice flooding. It’s also self proclaimed as the most beautiful bookstore in the world… I’m not too sure about that but it’s certainly very interesting and a whimsical must-see when in Venice.

I’d recommend visiting either early morning upon opening or perhaps right before closing - it’s a popular spot and you absolutely will need to queue up to walk up these stacked books outside. And once you take a photo… everyone else will realise they want to queue up to take one here too! 😉
