After a relaxing afternoon with the michaeljohn salon in Knightsbridge… it was time for me to get to work.
That is of course, if you call going to look at beauty products work.
And so I arrived at the Debenhams Beauty Show.
(PS. Beyond grateful that I had my hair done in time for it!)
I walked into the press entrance and went straight up to their showroom.
Immediately stepping out of the elevators, I was greeted by their friendly PR team and big jars of sweets and treats.
So, essentially, they could do no wrong.
The Debenhams Press show was a preview of current and upcoming products for the Christmas season. While I normally haaaaate to think about the holidays this early, I let myself indulge. Debs has some amazing products coming your way for the holidays loves!
Sneak preview anyone?
With all this fanfare, you kind of couldn’t help but get right into the spirit of it.
Baubles and beauty go hand in hand seamlessly .
And despite the fact that we’re counting down to Halloween, I was absolutely loving the 12 Days of Christmas.
Each day’s box was carefully crafted, sparkly, shining, glossy and matte.
G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.
I was particularly star struck by the Bare Minerals sets.
But I don’t discriminate when it comes to beauty, I was falling in love left and right in the press room.
Want to see more?
Debenhams beauty show had everything you could imagine out on display.
Endless lotions, perfumes, creams… I felt like a kid in a candy store.
This Kiel’s lotion below is still alluring me.
And some of these fantastic makeup sets too.
I truly thought I’d brought enough of my beauty products back over in my move from America.
Attending this show may have ended up being a dangerous move…
So when the lovely OPI ladies working on nails offered to fix mine up, I didn’t hesitate. (I’d have to pause on my browsing and keep still for a little bit!)
They were painting using colors from the OPI Nordic Collection. Ever so appropriate for the Christmas spirit.
I chose a classic Kelly color, similar to my all time favorite – a very dark purple hue called Lincoln Park After Dark – this one however had the Nordic twist to it, and was called Viking in a Vinter Vonderland.
They have some really beautiful colors and I’d definitely suggest they are worth checking out for this autumn/winter season.
Overall, I feel like I got a pretty great sneak at what’s coming our way in Debenhams for the Holidays.
A few key products that I’d recommend after the beauty show?
- OPI Nordic Collection, obviously I chose the dark colors, but the rest of the selection is lovely. Also, when I’m undecided on which color to get, a good tip is to buy the mini gift sets. You’ll get smaller polish bottles, but more selection. And then if you love one of them, buy the full size version!
- Flawless Definition Mascara from Bare Minerals. This was in Box 8. However, that’s a tough choice to narrow down as all of the Bare Minerals products out looked excellent.
- TooFaced Cat Eyes palette. It’s full of good classic browns and golds, which are my favorite eye shadow colors to play with.
- Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot. This is a Christmas special item. It has a lovely combination of cheek colors, from bronzed goldens to rosy pinks.
- Anything from Origins with the Dr. Andrew Weil collection.
I’ve linked my favorites out to the Debenhams site because that was easy, but you can really find these products all over the beauty market.
I know I don’t constantly blog about beauty or makeup because I truly don’t think I could ever put together a successful makeup tutorial. But beauty/makeup/skincare are absolute key interests of mine and I really loved getting the chance to share this with all of you.
So I hope you lot enjoyed this little Debenhams Christmas preview! It was such a fun time to drop into their press show and get a peek at their set and what’s new to the beauty market.
Now that I’ve shown you my favs for the autumn/winter… what products are you all loving at the moment?!
Kelly xoxo
