I’ve finally made it.

I’m back in the United Kingdom.

After seemingly the shortest flight of my life, I landed at London Gatwick, breezed through the immigration line and found myself back on English soil.

The last time I was here was in April.

So much has happened in my life since that point in time and yet, so little has changed here.

The weather is still familiar and cool, the rain, as always, unrelenting. Everything is moving along as if nothing has changed or happened.

As if spring and summer hadn’t swept through. As if time has stood still all this time.

But it hasn’t. It’s been rushing past all along.

On April 6th, I boarded my transatlantic flight back to America. I looked forlornly out the window with unspoken promises to England that I’d be back.

On October 6th, I kept that promise.

Exactly six months after I left, I had finally arrived.

In six months, I lived back in the states, worked part-time, prepped for the wedding, got married, went to Hawaii for the honeymoon, traveled a bit around America, filed endless visa and immigration paperwork, got my visa acceptance… and here we are.

I boarded a plane and landed back in England.

It only took six months to get here.

But now that I’m here, where do I go?

I have big dreams for my life, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities.

I don’t want to ever be completely complacent with where I am.

The future is unknown. And the mystery keeps the adventure alive.

I don’t know what will be next for me, hopefully a job, a career.

But I do know one thing.

It’s about time that I got here.
