Hello there wizards, witches and muggles! Are you ready to hear all about how you can have Christmas Dinner in the Great Hall at the WB Studio Tour?
Buckle up because I’m about to dish on one of the most magical experiences you can have in the Muggle world. No Portkey or Floo Powder necessary!
An incredibly magical experience, tuck in for Dinner in the Great Hall at the WB Studio Tour in London!
Where you can eat like you’re at Hogwarts (and even better because wine), surrounded by the very sets that brought the Wizarding World to life.
YES, this is real life, and YES, you absolutely need to go.
Let’s dive into on how to make this happen!
Dinner in the Great Hall at the WB Studio Tour: A Magical Feast
Step One: Set Your Wizarding Alarm Clock (aka Be Ready!)
Let me tell you right now, this experience is more coveted than a golden snitch at the Quidditch World Cup.
Tickets go on sale months in advance and sell out faster than a Firebolt.
When WB announces the ticket release date, mark it down in your calendar, set all the alarms, get your owl ready – because you’ll need to be on it. Like, refreshing-the-page-as-soon-as-the-clock-strikes-9-on-a-Monday-level on it.
The dates are limited, and it’s not just a regular “turn up and grab your seat” type of event. And for this year for the Christmas Dinner in the Great Hall there are just over 200 tickets available for each of the three nights.
It’s a multi-course feast in the Great Hall, complete with the long tables, floating candles and drinks that would make Madame Rosmerta proud. So, you don’t want to miss this!
Because there are only a handful of dates for these dinners and they are GONE faster than you can say “Accio Tickets.”
And yes – they are expensive! Tickets cost £275 per person so it’s certainly a bucket list kind of experience! Also please remember that included in the ticket cost is the price of the Dinner in the Great Hall AND the Studio Tour (which are currently £53.50 per person for usual entry).
PS Remember that even if you can’t get tickets for the Christmas event… the WB Studio Tour hosts more evenings throughout the year! Keep subscribed to their newsletter and look out for Valentine’s Day specials or events around the seasonal changeovers.
And you can always book in for the WB Studio Tour itself with a regular ticket – you can learn all about a normal day at the studios in my blog post here.
Step Two: What’s Included at Dinner in the Great Hall (Spoiler: It’s Magical)
So, what exactly are you getting with your ticket to this enchanted evening?
Welcome Drinks: Arrive for a drink and canapes reception in the Studio Tour lobby before stepping into the Great Hall, spectacularly transformed for the Christmas season.
The Main Event – Dinner in the Great Hall: This is where the real magic happens. No you won’t be seated at the long house tables but instead at smaller round tables – it’s giving Yule Ball to me!
The details of the meal change depending on the season, but expect two courses, each as delicious as the last, and themed around the holidays. And there’s dessert later on the tour so pace yourself!
Post-Dinner Magic: After the dinner, you’ll have more time to explore the rest of the Studio Tour. Wander through your favourite Common Rooms and classrooms. The Potions set turns into it’s own bar where you can expect a misting drink… before entering the Forbidden Forest. Finally, hop aboard the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 ¾ where you will be served a drink and dessert canapés.
And of course, don’t forget to stop by the gift shop – because everyone needs a personalised wand in their lives!
Step Four: What to Wear (Formal? Robes? Both?!)
The vibe is “dinner at Hogwarts,” so this is the perfect time to channel your inner witch or wizard.
While you won’t be required to wear formal robes, let’s just say that many people lean in to the occasion. Yes, I did in fact, find a glittery dress that looked like dress robes and wore it proudly!
But whether it’s dressing up in your house colours or wizarding world themed costume, the choice is entirely yours. And you’ll fit right in among fellow fans who’ve been waiting their whole lives for this kind of experience!
Step Five: Get Ready for All the Feels
When you’re booking something as magical as dinner in the Great Hall, there’s one thing you need to be prepared for: feelings. Nostalgia? Check. Excitement? Double-check.
That heartwarming glow when you realise you’re living out a dream you’ve had since you read The Philosopher’s Stone? It’s happening.
This is the kind of experience that isn’t just a dinner. It’s an evening where you get to immerse yourself in the world of Harry Potter in a way that feels like you’re stepping straight into the films. So, embrace it. Live it.
And when you finally sit down at that table, raise a glass, look around, and whisper to yourself, “I’m eating at Hogwarts.” It’s a pinch-me moment.
