The day after the wedding was spent brunching with family and friends and catching up with those we hadn’t seen the day before in all the commotion.
I’m glad we took two days to see everyone before dashing off on the honeymoon.
However, today, we’re moving ahead.
The Tuesday after the wedding, we were finally (over) packed and ready to head west… very, very west, to Hawaii. We were lucky enough to cash in on all of our frequent travel adventures to upgrade using our points. The newlyweds were headed to first class.
The fun thing about first class is that they continuously give you food and drinks. And as an airport/airplane rule, it is always socially acceptable to order alcohol at 7AM.
So we started our Tuesday off the right way with Bloody Mary’s.
And enjoying the blue sunny skies.
After a short first flight, we boarded our second plane heading to LAX.
I was impressed that in first class you are given very proper silverware and glassware to dine.
Maybe I’m a bit easily impressed.
You also get to enjoy a full three course meal, which was really a treat for us.
By the way, we traveled all the way from NY to Maui.
So we got to the best views of the country from the sky…
The seemingly endless mountains…
The hot dry desert…
The California coastline…
The beautifully vast Pacific ocean…
And finally, what we’ve all been waiting for, the coast of Maui.
It was bit of a dark gray day when we landed, but the wonderful thing about Maui is that sunshine is never too far away.
After 16 hours of travel, we couldn’t have been more excited to land on the beautiful island.
It was such a great experience to fly first class.
I’d love to say I’d travel first class more often. But it’s so expensive that unless you can use mile awards and upgrades, I wouldn’t recommend splashing out that much money simply for some extra legroom, food and beverages. I’d rather save up for my adventures when we land!
Have you ever traveled first class?
Would you in the future?
xx Kelly
PS. Stay tuned, further posts from the honeymoon are coming soon!

You’re lucky they had champagne on your flight! There was none to be found on mine. But we luckily consoled ourselves well with white wine, bloody mary’s and for Joe, a few beers! xox
