Notting Hill is one of my favorite places in London.
Let’s be a little more specific, Portobello Road is one of my favorite places in London. Every time we go, I fall deeper and more madly in love. The stunning colorful buildings, the eclectic people and stores, the treasured and tattered antiques, I can’t get enough.
It’s always exceptionally crowded during the weekend, but working your way through is part of the fun. In fact, it is the fun.
We wandered around, chatting with the vendors, picking up little bits and pieces. Our favorites of the day? We picked up some old maps of London. Our flat is still in transition…we’ve only just put up frames on the walls. Oops!
It’s all coming together, slowly but surely.
I was also in a great mood because, well, I’m back to blonde! Extremely bright blonde. I am delighted I went to go get it done. Sometimes you just need something simple like switching up your hair to make you feel like a completely new person.
We detoured off a few side streets as the pretty buildings caught my eye.
And naturally stopped for a fashion moment just in time before the rain came down.
Sporting my favorites: ASOS Grey Coat, Kurt Geiger Booties, J Brand skinnies, Topshop jumper… and a new favorite to the collection: the baby blue Michael Kors handbag. This is what my dreams are made of.
Alright, enough with the fashion. We’re meant to be talking food. Also, this is about when the raindrops began to fall. Heavily.
Enter New Tom’s.
I’ve heard great things, so we had no reason not to stop in.
It’s a great little split level restaurant that was full of brunch lovers, seeking to extend their morning. On the weekends, lunch doesn’t really happen when you can keep breakfasting, am I right?
We sat downstairs at a table for two and started perusing the menu.
Naturally, I ordered my standard Americano.
No complaints from the caffeine addict on this cuppa. I would have ordered a few more rounds, but our food arrived quickly after. Perfect because we were so ready to eat.
J went for the simple scrambled eggs on toast. I stole a bite. Delicious.
With eyes bigger than my stomach, I went all out with an order of the Egg’s Florentine.
Just look at this beauty.
Gooey and glorious. It was incredible, but eggs-ceptionally large. J lucked out and got to eat the other half.
New Tom’s gets a massive thumbs up from me. It’s great high quality food and the perfect stop for brunch. But I’d definitely love to check out their dinner menu too. Looks like we’ll have to stop in again soon…
