Admittedly, I love a good brunch. Everyone knows it.
In fact, I think we all do.
House of Ho’s Rock N Roll brunch has been a thing of legends. So, I was pretty keen to try it.
Bring on the brunching.
House of Ho welcomes you enthusiastically with a lychee Bellini to start.
Cheers!
Then they bring over edamame and crackers to munch on while we took a look over their menu. Delish.
The crackers are incredibly good and have a bit of a spicy kick to them, exactly how I like it.
The way brunch works is that you select three sharing plates per person. It’s more than enough food. So what did we go for?
Fresh Summer Rolls, Imperial Rolls, Chicken Wings, Smokey Aubergine, 7 Spice Marinated Squid and the Duck Pho Cuon.
Let’s go with the favorites first.. The seven spice marinated squid. This was my absolute favorite. I’d go back in a heartbeat and order this.
The Chili Glazed Chicken Wings. Melt in your mouth goodness.
The Imperial Roll… Crispy. Crunchy. Yum.
Those were the three favorites. I’d order these any day of the week. Especially the squid.
Next in line? The summer rolls were good, and I definitely love anything peanut related. The peanut sauce that accompanies them is phenomenal and albeit perplexing to your taste buds.
The Smokey Aubergine is also tasty, although it may not look like the perfect Instagram photo in the making.
Lastly? While the rest of the starters were lovely, I really just couldn’t eat the Duck Pho Cuon.
Full disclosure, I’m not a fan of duck and it was J’s pick on the menu. But even he wasn’t loving it. So, while we’d pass on the duck, the rest of the starters we tried were amazing. I’d get two of the squid any day!
And though we’d filled up on starters… brunch isn’t nearly over. PS. They keep you very happy with a full Prosecco glass throughout. It’s endless, so if you’re keen to have it all. You really can.
Next were our mains. I ordered the Vegetable Curry and Joe went with the Lemongrass Chicken. Our sides were vegetables and rice.
The curry was filling, but it truly is well portioned. If I hadn’t eaten my weight in starters, this is a perfectly sized dish complete with a sweet curry sauce. It’s intriguing and unlike any other curry I’ve had before.
J’s Lemongrass chicken was extremely refreshing. You take a bite, and then it hits you. BAM. Lemon. I really enjoyed the punch of flavor it packs.
If I had to choose between the curry or the Lemon chicken, I’d pick the chicken. And then we also had our lovely sides of vegetables and rice. Classics.
Naturally, we had to finish things off with a bit of dessert. Despite how full we may have been, I mean, it would be rude not to.
Presenting… the Crème Brûlée.
It was somehow the best way to finish the meal.
We sipped on a bit of Prosecco and then we went on our way to walk it all off.
The Rock N Roll brunch at the House of Ho is on offer on the weekends from 12-5pm at £29 per person. From the amount of food and drink you’re offered… it’s well worth it if you’re looking to fill up and drink up.
