Peace out 2015.
It’s been fun, but I’m ready for the next adventure.
I’d love to tell you that I’m about to scale a mountain or complete some incredible tasks this upcoming year… but I’m not. Well, I haven’t been commissioned for an extreme activity yet at least.
In lieu of any resolutions, because who sticks to those, am I right? I’ve set myself up with some semi achievable goals on my plate that I’d love to sit here next year and boast that I’ve completed…
We’ll see.
In fact, I stumbled upon what I wrote last year. I said I’d launch a YouTube channel. This so did not happen.
So I’m totally going to smash these incredibly basic goals. Or at least, today I am.
1. Move More
Yes, I belong to the fanciest of gyms in London and I pay way too much for it. So I should probably use it eh? I’d love to say I’ll get there 5 times a week. But it’s not realistic. I want to get there as much as my schedule allows because I’m sick of feeling like a sloth person.
2. Go to Workout Classes
I love going to yoga and spin classes. But in 2015, I only had time for one class. This kind of goes along with move more, completing two goals in one. Whoop!
3. Salad
I said to Joe the other day that my goal for 2016 is salad. He laughed at me, but I’m completely serious on this. I need to eat more salad. I’m always eating way too much. I don’t have limits. I definitely am the person who licks their plate clean, whether I’m hungry or not. In order to combat this, I want to finish plates full of green and vegetables. And if I’m still hungry after eating all the green, then by all means, I’m eating something else.
4. Go to new places
It can be a new city, a new country, it doesn’t matter, I just want to explore somewhere new.
5. Explore London
Time to get out in London and explore the place we live!
6. Write
My commute takes the life out of me and after working 10 hours or more a day, my desire to come home and create any sort of original content for this space is completely gone. I want, I need to find the time to write more. This has become one of my life passions and it breaks my heart when I don’t feel I’ve put the effort into it that I can. My brain is bursting with ideas and somehow each week, I lose the motivation to put these thoughts down on the keyboard.
7. Up the Numbers
It goes along with generating the written content, but in 2016 I’d like to see my blog numbers skyrocket (or at least get on an airplane).
8. Social Engagement
We don’t like to admit it as bloggers, but the numbers really do matter. Having a following brings opportunities and opportunities bring better content. I know that I’ve worked hard for the collaborations and successes so far. And I’d like to step up my social media engagement. That means more interacting with more amazing people on Twitter and Instagram. Speaking of such… connect with me there? I’m making a huge effort lately with my Instagram.
9. Spending time with friends
I’m the friend known as the ‘canceler.’ Yep. I’m the one who says, ‘Yasss drinks!’ Only to on the day, be nowhere to be found (actually, it’s at home in my sweats, obv). I love the people in my life and I’m desperate to make more time to see them in 2016. And to speak to the ones who live far away, via Skype, or calls.
10. Spend time with Joe
Despite my love for lounging in our flat, Joe and I rarely get to spend the amount of time together that we wish we could. He works mostly from home, but travels on the weekends. And I work mostly during the week. We used to both work from home during the week and it was amazing. We’d do gym dates, pop out for lunch together, and I miss it. We’re definitely not one of those couples that needs space. So in 2016, I want us to be able to do more together. Grab dinner or drinks out. Explore new places. Go on more holidays.
11. See family more
Living in the UK means that I rarely get to see my family. Being home for the holidays was the first time I’d been back in nine months. NINE. So in 2016, I refuse to let that happen again. I used to have a six month rule, six months would be the longest I’d be away. Luckily, I have a trip booked for the end of May, but even still, I’d like to get home sometime before then.
12. Buying a house/flat
We’ve been saving up for so long, that we should be able to start the process of buying our own place. I think we’d both love to have our own house rather than a flat. Unfortunately, this would probably mean living outside of London. So we’ll see how this goal changes throughout the year. We may want to stay in London after all. Or… we may even decide to move back to New York.
13. Become a minimalist
I love this goal. I don’t know how achievable it is, especially for me. But I’d love to minimize what we have. My wardrobe and closet are overflowing. I wear like 5 things continuously from my stash of clothing. It’s time for a winter cleaning, eBay here I come.
14. Read
I think anyone reading or writing a blog loves reading. I love catching up with what my favourite bloggers are doing, but I’d also love to start reading books again. Books that are purely for entertainment. Murder mysteries, romances, thrillers. I used to love reading for fun growing up and I’d love to make more of an effort to escape in the pages of a novel.
15. Improve a skill
I’d love to say I want to learn something new, but in reality, I want to improve on what I already know. Whether that be learning how to better edit and take photos or become a better writer. I have nearly a year to become a better me. Let’s do it!
16. Be happy
Easier said than done, but in 2016 my ultimate goal above anything else is to be happy!
There you have it my 16 semi achievable goals for 2016. I think the overarching summary is that I somehow need more time. So if you happen to find one, send a Time Turner my way, will you?
What are your goals for the New Year?

Happiness is beyond important, I don’t know why sometimes we forget that it’s probably the most important of all. And I know, time for plenty of London exploring! xx

We can trade places and both accomplish goal number 4! London is one of the places I most want to visit! Or we can always just go back and visit Pittsburgh :). Hope you had a great New Years Kelly!

I’m gonna be honest because of your goals are the same as mine. I want to write more(especially for my blog). I want to be able to travel more. I didn’t go out of the state much because of work, but this year I want to change that. I also want to not be as lazy and be more productive.

Take those vacation days Ralph!! Good luck on accomplishing your goals this year, a new year allows all new possibilities! 🙂

I kept my wishes and intentions short this year as I am not that good at keeping them. Mine are quite broad too, to be happier and healthier.
Good luck with your goals!
