One of the best things about London is the ability to always find something to do. Sometimes it’s a lot of effort. Sometimes it’s very little.
When my mom came to visit, jet lag was in full force, so we opted for a weekend filled with the latter. Extremely casual.
After a series of harrowing delays from the states, she arrived a day late to London. Which as any of those who travel frequently know, it takes awhile to get over the jet lag. We were all for a lazy London Saturday, with dinner and a good bottle of wine outside.
And there’s no better place for this than one of our favorite last minute spots, The Abdingdon in Kensington.
They have the perfect little outdoor space. Four tables out along the street. It’s not too busy or crowded. Not pretentious. The best quiet spot to catch up over a full glass.
The food is exquisite. Seriously delicious. The menu changes daily, so you never really know what will be there when you walk in.
Filling our stomachs with truly fantastic mains (I choose the Sea Bass), we passed on dessert. After all, there was more vino at our place…

This looks like a lovely little spot in Kensington, I really want to explore the South West of London a little more! The food looks delicious and it’s cool how they change their menu daily. Love your photography for this post too 🙂 x

Thanks so much my dear! I’m so in love with the Kensington area… it’s tucked away just far enough from the madness of central London. 🙂

First things first, wine is not an excuse to skip dessert. Have a wine ice cream float if you can’t manage a whole pud. I love that The Abingdon have their daily menu on their website, it all looks so good. Will need to stop by and pay a visit.
